Types of Program

Undergraduate Program
‘Undergrad’, is a 4 year program, after 12th Grad, where students can study a wide range of subjects to begin with. Once they have met the core curriculum requirements, students at most institutions are asked to choose a specific field of study, also known as the major. The final two years are spent taking more courses that are more directly related to your major.

Master’s Program
Masters of Science (popularly known as MS) is the choice of maximum applicants across the country. Others graduate programs are MBA, MPH, etc. These are 2 years full time programs which combine first-class teaching and practical industry exposure to prepare graduates for professional work.

PhD Program
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) is the highest academic degree graduate students can earn in most fields of study. These students often go on to teach at the college level or pursue research positions. The doctorate degree normally takes 4 to 6 years in the USA and 3 to 5 years in Europe.

International Student VISA Applicants need to contact the local German embassy or consulate in their respective country. It is advisable that the student applies as soon as possible, preferably at least 3 months prior to their move.
It is mandatory for students to have secured a place in a university or have a written approval for preparatory study measures, before they apply for a VISA.
The VISA authorities take into consideration the following before granting a VISA :
- Whether the applicant is genuinely a student intending to pursue further studies in Germany,
- The applicant adheres and abides by the VISA conditions,
- Shall depart once the course completes.
It lies upon the applicant student to convince the VISA officer regarding i) his adequacy with the level of proficiency required in German language for the course he/she shall be undertaking, ii) whether the course is in line with his/her academic background and future pursuits, iii) whether the applicant meets with the requirements mentioned in the above point.
The entire process of securing a VISA may take up 8 – 10 weeks.
